Entities in the Fractally Unified Network Knowledgesphere are represented with a lightweight, language neutral text based format. In order to FUNK encode an entity, it must be transformed into one or more FUNK Elements or FUNK Packets. This is accomplished using the widely supported techniques of Comma Separated Values(CVS) and URL Encoding. Information in other formats such as XML, JSON or YAML can be packaged in FUNK but FUNK encoding is more effective for high volume and/or small memory footprint environments such as Second Life or embedded devices.
